Oreterra’s 100% owned Lundmark project covers 5,386 hectares and adjoins the Musselwhite gold mine property in northwestern Ontario. The project is subject to a 3% Net Smelter Returns (NSR) royalty.
Drilling completed since 2019 has outlined an extensive volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) system characterized by multiple mineralization styles and events. These include individual high-grade gold-bearing quartz–pyrrhotite veins, broad zones of stockwork-style copper–gold vein mineralization, and three VMS-style gold–silver–enriched base metal zones.
All known mineralized drill intercepts occur within an approximately 700 × 400 metre area, and there is increasing evidence that several of the mineralization styles may be genetically related. This close spatial association highlights the complexity and scale of the Lundmark mineral system.
Several electromagnetic conductors and magnetic low anomalies interpreted to be associated with known mineralization extend up to three kilometres from existing drill intercepts. In total, the alteration and mineralization system identified to date now extends for approximately 11 kilometres along strike.
Drilling in 2021 led to the discovery of two previously unknown banded iron formations (BIFs) along the western side of the Lundmark claims. The presence of a nearby major, tightly folded BIF exceeding 800 metres in length represents a compelling new exploration target for Musselwhite-style gold mineralization.
Other properties held by Oreterra in northwestern Ontario include the 583.9-hectare Arseno Lake property (subject to a 1% NSR), the 1,073-hectare North Caribou River property, and the 5,113-hectare Markop Lake property (subject to a 2% NSR).
