Oreterra’s 100% owned Kinkaid property is its flagship asset in Nevada. Acquired in January 2022, the property has since been expanded through additional staking to a total of 131 claims covering 1,101 hectares. Kinkaid is located in Mineral County, Nevada, approximately 18 kilometres east of the town of Hawthorne, and is readily accessible by road. The property is subject to a 2% Net Smelter Returns (NSR) royalty in favour of two private individuals.
Oreterra has conducted annual prospecting programs across the Kinkaid property since 2021, including geological mapping and sampling of numerous historic workings distributed throughout the claims. This work has identified two principal styles of mineralization across the property.
The southern two-thirds of the Kinkaid property host numerous epithermal to mesothermal quartz ± calcite ± barite veins, many of which return elevated copper, gold, and silver values. In contrast, the northern third of the property contains garnet skarn horizons that were apparently mined historically for gold, tungsten, and possibly silver.
A combination of assay results, metal zonation patterns, sericite alteration anomalies, and locally extensive brown discolouration of host rocks surrounding historic mine workings now suggests the presence of at least three clusters of vein-type mineralization. These clusters occur within hydrothermal alteration haloes measuring up to one kilometre across and are interpreted as representing the upper portions of porphyry copper intrusive centres at depth.
Oreterra is planning further exploration at Kinkaid, including both airborne and ground geophysical surveys. These programs are intended to refine drill targets ahead of planned diamond drilling on the most prospective areas of the property.
